TM Biocontrol is a viral insecticide that is used in the biological control of the Whitemarked tussock Moth (Orgyia leucostigma) and the Douglas Fir tussock Moth (Orgyia pseudotsugata). These invasives are a significant defoliator of Douglas-fir and true-fir forests of western North America. Outbreaks have occurred in many regions from British Columbia to Arizona and New Mexico, and from the Rocky Mountains to the Cascade and Siskiyou ranges of Washington, Oregon, and California.

Suppression efforts with TM Biocontrol are neccessary in order to manage these invasive pests and to protect natural resources as well as forest integrity. The product can be applied by ground or by air and as with all baculoviridae, only the target species is affected.
